Plans for a month of World Cup

Licensing Commission, 6 p.m. Tuesday. The chair of the commission, Joe Lynch, raises the issue of extended hours at bars and restaurants during the upcoming World Cup period of June 11 through July 19, when 48 soccer teams compete in 104 total “fixtures” globally. While Boston Stadium in Foxboro hosts seven of the games between June 13 and July 9, others take place in time zones around the world, and watches could go late as 3 or 4 a.m. Also on the agenda are items including a Korean barbecue chain called bb.q Chicken (which has a location in Cambridge’s Central Square) seeking to open at 248 Elm St., Davis Square, filling the space left empty when Boston Halal closed; Marinho’s Brazilian Grill at 85 Broadway, East Somerville, which was the restaurant La Cosecha; and Saint Brigid’s Well at 525 Medford St., Magoun Square, not long ago the cocktail bar Daddy Jones. At Somerville City Hall, 93 Highland Ave., Central Hill, and watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.

Remaking 90 Washington St.

90 Washington Street Civic Advisory Committee, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. A first look at redevelopment proposals for the city’s nearly 4-acre site at 90 Washington St., which the city seized in 2019 for a new public safety building. Since a multimillion-dollar legal ruling went against the city, Somerville has changed tack and plans for the site to make the money back with a sale by mid- to late 2027. The developer should be interested in delivering a mix of uses: commercial ones such as retail and restaurants; dense, transit-oriented housing affordable to a range of incomes; public green space; and places for community organizations. Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.

Dispose of expired medication

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Get rid of expired medications before they risk the health of children, pets and adults – drop the meds off for disposal at staffed locations: Public Safety Headquarters, 220 Washington St., Ward 2, and the Teele Square Fire Station, 6 Newbury St. Information and resources, including free Narcan and fentanyl test strips, will be available from staff of the Community, Help, Outreach and Recovery unit of Somerville police and the City’s Prevention Services division will also be onsite to provide prevention.
