$10 Si Cara has been firing canotto-style pizza here since August 2022, bringing a puffy crust with a surprisingly mochi-like chew at the outer edges and an accompanying menu of salads, sandwiches and snacks. The latter include fried mozzarella, which come in pairs and look like Gorton’s frozen fish filets dusted with Parmesan. The shape should mean more cheese and less breading, but this is a very firm layer of panko over the smoothest and mildest mozzarella. A companion called the cheese “insipid.” Note, though, that our table’s critique is at least matched by reviews online calling these “probably the best mozz sticks I’ve ever had” and “absolutely delicious.” (The hot cheese did have an impressive gooeyness.) For us, though, the best part was that the sticks come with vodka sauce instead of the standard marinara; as a scoop for sauce, these are pleasant bites.
