$9.95 It would be difficult to recommend a dish more highly than this Nepalese chicken salad – unless you’re averse to strong flavors with high spice. The shredded chicken, charred to a smokey crunch in places, is swirled in among chilis and hefty slices of onion and tossed in sizzling mustard oil with ginger and garlic. You can feel the heat as you raise a forkful. Though Curry Express serves it with traditional sides of puffed rice and chutney, there’s no way these could increase the bliss of this dish. (A small bowl of rice pudding makes for a delicious, cooling dessert, though.) I kept thinking what a treat choila would be for barbecue fans. Not because it’s sometimes made with buffalo, but because it takes the cuisine’s burnt ends and pulled chicken in thrilling, mouth searing directions.
