As part of its mission of community, The Cambridge Somerville Independent plans weekly “office hours” at two convenient locations, and the hours start this week.

Come with story ideas, questions, concerns or complaints – or, even better, come with proposals about how you can become part of a team interested in bringing news and arts coverage to our cities. Writers, editors, photographers and technological wizards are welcome! At least one current team member will be on hand to meet you.

The events are planned to switch weekly between Cambridge and Somerville, each running Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

They get started – like The Independent is just getting started – Tuesday at Diesel Cafe, 257 Elm St., Davis Square, Somerville.

The alternating location where The Independent will set up shop briefly on Feb. 24: Toscanini’s ice cream, 899 Main St., Central Square, Cambridge. (At the southeast end, in the area known as Lafayette Square.)

We’ll be back in Somerville in March, but don’t let your home address prevent you from hopping back and forth across the city line. Each location is near the MBTA red line and has municipal parking lots nearby.
