Sept. 11: Level Up Circus (Arts at the Armory, Somerville)

Arts at the Armory delivers “Level Up Circus,” a circus experience with stunts and feats drawing inspiration from video games. Expect to see aerial works and cosplay characters, including retro classics as well as newer favorites, come to life this Friday at 8 p.m. Live video game music by Diamond Machine, produced using a Game Boy, will accompany the show, and there will be merch for sale.

Sept. 12: Mantasia 2: Return To Mantasia (Somerville Theatre, Somerville)

At the Somerville Theatre, take in a spectacle of “Mantasia 2: Return To Mantasia,” a drag show that stretches the imagination with acts from magical worlds as well as appearances from Las Vegas Showboys and monsters from the depths of your darkest dreams. Performers include King Molasses, Rusty Hammer, Throb Zombie and others. The show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday and is 18-plus.
