Cambridge saw its second shooting in two days as police, firefighters and EMTs responded to 911 calls from the Columbia Terrace area in The Port neighborhood at around 11:45 p.m.

There officers found a 19-year-old gunshot victim, who was reportedly shot through a window. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for treatment for a gunshot wound to the chest, according to scanner reports.

Police were on scene and investigating, according to a 1:33 a.m. email. At least one shell casing was reportedly found. “There is not believed to be any broader danger to the community,” police said.

It is the sixth gunfire incident of the year in Cambridge, and the fifth was just a day earlier – across town on Rindge Avenue across from Comeau Field in North Cambridge. One victim was found there, shot at around 3:20 p.m., and also was taken by EMS to Massachusetts General Hospital.

It was not clear if the ShotSpotter gunfire-detection technology heard the incident; only 911 calls were mentioned by police officers and dispatchers, according to scanner reports. ShotSpotter did not go off for the North Cambridge gunfire, a police spokesperson, “as that took place significantly outside of the coverage radius.”
