The S&S Restaurant, purveyor of deli, brunch and Jewish foods since 1919, will close in June, owner Gary Mitchell told The Boston Globe on Friday. “It’s time to make time for other restaurants, and other things are coming,” Mitchell told Kara Baskin of the Globe, without elaboration.
Mitchell once owned the square’s Ryles Jazz Club with Aimee Baum. It also closed in a June – of 2018 – after four decades at 212 Hampshire St. They expected the club to be replaced with a high-end liquor store, but the address became a Bank of America.
