These are just some of the municipal meetings and civic events for the coming week. More are on the City of Somerville website.
Community Path micromobility
City Council Traffic and Parking Committee, 6 p.m. Monday. This committee run by city councilor Beatriz Naima Sait discusses safety on the Community Path around such things as the regulation of e-bikes – including speed limits – and other motorized vehicles. Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.
CSO plan community office hours
Combined Sewer Overflow Control Plan Community office hours, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Comment is being taken on the $1.3 billion draft control plan for combined sewer overflows, the term for releasing waste into public waterways when sewer and water systems get overwhelmed. At the Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave., Central Hill.
Argenziano safety, SHS tiles
School Building Facilities and Maintenance Committee, 6 p.m. Tuesday. In a meeting of City Council and School Committee members, the agenda includes issues at the Argenziano School (security cameras, enclosed schoolyard fencing, balconies and other infrastructure) and Somerville High School building (concerns about exterior tiles). Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.
Neighborhood Connect in Ward 3
Neighborhood meeting, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Formerly known as City Hall Community Meetings, these sessions bring the mayor, City Council and School Committee to Somerville’s seven wards to answer questions and share information on city initiatives, neighborhood updates, crime stats and more. The new format has primarily a science-fair format instead of formal presentations and starts with a social half-hour with free pizza and snacks. (Find out which ward you live in with the MySomerville address lookup tool.) In person in the cafeteria at Somerville High School, 81 Highland Ave., Central Hill.
