$3 Yes, this is take two on Chatty Patty (and take three on the Eastern Edge Food Hall). But empanadas, calzones, pasties, turnovers: I love them all, especially affordable ones, and the variety of offerings at Eastern Edge, including a resurrected Clover, did nothing to distract me from my direct line to Chatty Patty. The veggie patty had a thin and chewy crust, golden brown and bubbly from deep frying, with a scant but delicious veggie-and-greens filling. (The stand also offer chicken, beef and the previously reviewed shrimp.) It was served warm with “Ken’s Boom Boom Sauce,” which has a flavor as good as its name. If they sold bottles, I’d have bought one. Another person may call this patty perfect; for me, it was too oily. But to each their own: While that someone else is chowing down in Kendall, I’ll be off in search of my next dough-encased treat.
