CSO plan community office hours
Combined Sewer Overflow Control Plan Community Office Hours, noon to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. Comment is being taken on the draft control plan for combined sewer overflows, the term for releasing waste into public waterways when sewer and water systems get overwhelmed. The next session of office hours for resident questions about the plan is virtual, from noon to 2 p.m., and later in-person from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave., Central Hill.
Stormwater advisory committee
CSO Control and Stormwater Management Advisory Committee, 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. A review of combined sewer overflow and stormwater work in Cambridge and brainstorming of topics for the committee to discuss in coming months. Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.
How to use free shuttle service
EZRide Shuttle information session, 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. A presentation about a free shuttle bus service that goes from North Station through Kendall Square and MIT to Cambridgeport on weekdays and offers weekend service between Lechmere and Kendall Square. Housing authority business
Cambridge Housing Authority, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The board gets an update on CHA-specific impediments, challenges and opportunities for social housing, which is meant to keep homes permanently affordable by creating mixed-income, locally run communities; forms an audit committee; authorizes a construction lender (Citizens Bank) and equity investor for the redevelopment of Corcoran Park affordable housing; and forms limited liability companies for work on affordable projects in neighboring communities – 144 units at Walkling Court in Medford and 135 units at Sherman Gardens in Belmont.
