$9.49 Yes, we’re back on our H Mart, but with a Bite more impressive than the sweet frank roll and very different from the baked sweet potato – the kimbap or Korean sushi roll from the prepared foods section is a full meal, maybe or almost for two, for less than $10. Within the rice and gim (the seaweed wrapper, analogous to the Japanese nori) are cucumber, carrot, radish, egg and mock crab, with more slices of munchable, pickled daikon radish on the side (more of a subsnack than the ginger packaged with sushi as a palate cleanser). It’s all fresh, good and solidly made, superior to nearby grocery store sushi, and there is a dearth of kimbap at either our area’s Korean fast food or fine dining. Even if there’s not much to distinguish this kimbap from your basic sushi restaurant futomaki, you’re unlikely to score 24 pieces of that for this price.
